Early tomorrow morning we head out across the
country, starting near Seattle, going east to Nova Scotia and then back down to
Austin for the winter.
In November we had no idea we’d be RV fulltimers planning to
spend the night in a Walmart parking lot on our way to Yellowstone. During the
last seven months Russ retired, we sold our house, bought an RV, and got rid of
75% of what we’d accumulated over the past 42 years.
Oh we daydreamed over the years about traveling but always
in those “someday. . .” conversations. Truthfully, since Russ had worked since
he was ten years old (honestly!) he didn’t really think the day would come when
he could opt out of work. But we had
both come to believe that the time was right for this adventure so we’ve pulled
out the map and marked a constellation of places we’ll see.
And my “studio” is packed—a full compartment of precious
storage space filled with materials and supplies for making art while we’re on
the road.
So while we're traveling we’ll do as Yogi Berra suggested-- when we
see a fork in the road we’ll take it.
